Campaign Coordinator
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Foundation UK – an affiliate of PETA US, which is the largest animal rights organisation in the world – is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals, educating policymakers and the public about cruelty to animals and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect. PETA UK and its affiliates work through public education, research, policy initiatives, legislative reform, media campaigns and awareness-raising campaigns.
Position Objective
To coordinate the organisation's campaign projects

Reports to:
Associate Director, PETA Foundation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advocate the organisation's philosophy to members of the public
- Coordinate and manage a campaign plan, timeline and agenda for specific campaigns
- Research campaign-related information for correspondence, publications, action alerts, Web features and media materials
- Organise events, demonstrations and other outreach projects
- Represent the organisation at public-speaking engagements, in debates and to the media and the general public
- Work with the PETA Foundation US’ production team to order new and redesigned posters, banners and literature
- Develop an activist network by identifying, recruiting and communicating positively with existing and potential activists
- Coordinate volunteer work for the organisation's campaigns
- Maintain the volunteer and activist database
- Travel, when necessary, to carry out events and demonstrations
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field or relevant experience required
- Activist experience
- Experience in working on campaigns a plus
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
- Public-speaking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to establish priorities, meet multiple deadlines and work well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to be punctual and dependable
- Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in personable, friendly and positive manner
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the organisation
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends and to travel as required
- Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
- Valid UK driver's licence
- Ability to professionally advocate the organisation's positions on issues to a wide variety of people
- Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
