PETA Netherlands Membership Coordinator (London Based)

Position Objectives

  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date records about members of and contributors to PETA Netherlands
  • To act as the primary contact for PETA Netherlands donors

Term of Employment:
Full-time

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide excellent service to PETA Netherlands members through correspondence and on the telephone
  • Monitor PETA Netherlands' mail, e-mail account, phone and fax lines and answering machine and respond to all queries within pre-defined time periods
  • Generate letters and e-mail correspondence in Dutch
  • Adapt and translate existing supporter responses to be sent to PETA Netherlands members and prospects
  • Process all PETA Netherlands donations sent to PETA UK's London office
  • Process PETA Netherlands' bank statements in pre-defined time periods to ensure donors' records are keep up to date
  • Check PETA Netherlands' donation acknowledgement letters for errors and arrange for them to be mailed
  • Handwrite acknowledgement cards to be mailed to PETA Netherlands donors and recipients of special-gift donations
  • Act as the main Dutch-speaking contact for all of PETA Netherlands' vendors and for regulatory issues for planned gifts and other areas
  • Verify and complete missing information required for data entry and update donor requests, including managing pledge donations via PETA Netherlands' membership database
  • Balance the donations entered with the batch totals provided by the caging vendor
  • Prepare and oversee batched source document entry into PETA Netherlands' membership database
  • Verify that all batches recorded on the deposit logs have been entered into PETA Netherlands' membership database
  • Research and manage donation disputes and ensure their removal from PETA Netherlands' membership database
  • Process all workplace and matching-gift PETA Netherlands donations
  • Verify and input PETA Netherlands' donor data and prospect information in accordance with organisational policy
  • Perform research on various animal-related topics
  • Keep informed about developments related to PETA Netherlands and the animal rights movement
  • Assist with maintenance of PETA Netherlands' undeliverable-mail list
  • Provide reports on PETA Netherlands' donations generated as well as contacts with PETA Netherlands' members and prospects
  • Perform translation of PETA Netherlands' fundraising materials in accordance with PETA Netherlands policy
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Native Dutch speaker
  • Fluent in English and able to translate between Dutch and English
  • Minimum of one year of data entry experience
  • Previous membership services experience or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
  • Working knowledge of database systems – preferably The Raiser's Edge
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrable math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills
  • Knowledge of animal rights issues as well as current campaigns by PETA Netherlands and its international affiliates
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization and PETA Netherlands
