Position Objective:

To perform a wide range of duties for PETA Europe Ltd (PEL)

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Reports to:

Director of PETA Europe and the Office Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer PEL phones and respond to questions and concerns from callers, transfer calls and remove messages from the answering machine, as needed, and provide timely, polite service to callers
  • Check and respond to e-mails sent to the PETA Europe Info account daily
  • Respond in a timely manner to literature and information requests from the public
  • Sort and distribute incoming post and faxes promptly, responding as appropriate
  • Help maintain tidy off-site storage inventory and make weekly runs to the site
  • Ensure that office is kept orderly and that supplies are ordered and stocked, as needed
  • Help keep the office running efficiently, including by drawing the supervisor's attention to any problems and, when possible, taking action
  • Handle UPS, FedEx and all courier requests and deliveries
  • Help maintain general cleanliness of the office
  • Assist the celebrity liaison with photo shoots, including by entering information into databases, writing letters, calling groomers and stylists, and starting call sheets
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Ability to establish priorities, organise tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to make sound independent judgements
  • Excellent organisational skills and pleasant disposition
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
