Job Openings: Administrator
Position Objective:
To perform a wide range of duties for PETA Europe Ltd (PEL)
Term of Employment:
Full-time
Reports to:
Director of PETA Europe and the Office Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer PEL phones and respond to questions and concerns from callers, transfer calls and remove messages from the answering machine, as needed, and provide timely, polite service to callers
- Check and respond to e-mails sent to the PETA Europe Info account daily
- Respond in a timely manner to literature and information requests from the public
- Sort and distribute incoming post and faxes promptly, responding as appropriate
- Help maintain tidy off-site storage inventory and make weekly runs to the site
- Ensure that office is kept orderly and that supplies are ordered and stocked, as needed
- Help keep the office running efficiently, including by drawing the supervisor's attention to any problems and, when possible, taking action
- Handle UPS, FedEx and all courier requests and deliveries
- Help maintain general cleanliness of the office
- Assist the celebrity liaison with photo shoots, including by entering information into databases, writing letters, calling groomers and stylists, and starting call sheets
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) required
- Ability to establish priorities, organise tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to make sound independent judgements
- Excellent organisational skills and pleasant disposition
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
- Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
