Supporter Engagement Coordinator

Position Objectives:

  • To respond to enquiries and comments from members of the public via e-mail and mail as well as on social media sites, including Twitter and Facebook
  • To assist in promoting PETA’s message and work on social media sites

Term of Employment: Full time

Reports to: Digital Marketing Manager

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor and respond appropriately to incoming tweets and comments on PETA’s social media accounts regarding questions about vegan eating, animal emergencies, campaign updates, or other information
  • Monitor and reply to comments on PETA’s blog
  • Reply to e-mails and letters from supporters and the general public concerning PETA’s work
  • Ensure that all communication reflects the organisation’s positions and values, contains up-to-date information, and is handled in a timely, professional, and efficient manner
  • Monitor the social media accounts of celebrities and companies for content relevant to PETA’s campaigns and support strategies to engage influencers in animal rights campaigns using social media, including drafting tweets for celebrity engagement
  • Assist the digital marketing team in implementing PETA’s social media presence
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in an office setting
  • Proven interest in and strong working knowledge of social media
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
