Yvonne Taylor works on corporate projects for PETA UK. She’s been a vegetarian since the age of 12, and she went vegan 20 years ago after coming across a PETA US magazine while volunteering at an animal charity in her hometown of Edinburgh. Soon after, she spent almost a year interning at PETA US and then went on to spend several years working for other UK animal rights groups before starting at PETA UK in 2004. She began working on campaigns – which took her to many locations, including China and Kazakhstan – and later moved on to celebrity projects, where she was lucky enough to work with many of her heroes, including Morrissey, Ricky Gervais, Kate Winslet and Paul McCartney.

Yvonne now has a slightly more subdued – but no less varied – job, in which she oversees all of PETA UK’s corporate campaigns and assists companies with introducing animal-friendly products and practices in order to address the growing public demand for vegan foods and fashions. These have included teaming up with Topshop for a window display at its flagship Oxford Street store to highlight the cruelty of exotic skins, persuading global retailers to halt their use of angora wool, and overseeing PETA UK’s annual “Vegan Food Awards” and “Vegan Fashion Awards” – which celebrate food and fashion retailers who offer animal-free products.
