Take a look at the list of retailers that have committed to ban angora, and you’ll notice that one brand is conspicuous by its absence – United Colors of Benetton.

Compassionate people everywhere are fed up with the store’s continuing support for a product that is often made by tearing the hair from screaming rabbits’ skin – and today, they’re making their feelings known!

In London, a crowd of protesters gathered outside Benetton’s flagship Regent Street store in London for a protest that added a twist to the brand’s well-known United Colors campaign.

Meanwhile, across the country, PETA supporters are picking up the phone to ask Benetton staff why the company still hasn’t banned angora.

Benetton has also seen its Facebook page flooded with comments from consumers who felt let down by its failure to do the right thing for animals. And to date, more than 30,000 people have sent e-mails to Benetton’s head office about angora through our action alert.

Thank you to everyone who’s already taken part and made this day of action a resounding success. Your efforts have really ramped up the pressure on Benetton to ditch angora – and with so much public support for the campaign, the store’s managers have got to listen!

If you haven’t yet taken action, there’s still time:
