Brian McFadden and Pup Winston Star in Ad Calling for Ban on Irish Fur Farms

Fur farms are hell on Earth for animals. In the latest PETA campaign, Irish star Brian McFadden, along with his lovable pup, Winston, urges fans to swear off real fur and join him in calling for a ban on fur farms in Ireland.

Brian knows that just like dogs, minks are sensitive animals with emotions and the ability to feel pain – and they deserve better than to be killed for a frivolous fashion accessory.

The Westlife singer joins almost 40,000 PETA supporters and celebrities Imelda May, Anjelica Huston and Cillian Murphy who want to see a ban on fur farming in the country.

Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives behind bars before they are drowned, beaten, strangled, electrocuted and sometimes even skinned alive in order to produce fur coats, collars and cuffs. Imprisoning minks in cramped wire cages denies them any opportunity to engage in natural behaviour such as hunting, playing or swimming.

Minks are sensitive, intelligent animals with a visual learning ability greater than cats, and in the wild, they live near water and love swimming and diving. But fur farms don’t provide for their needs, and before they are killed for their fur, captivity often drives them insane.

The next time you see a fur garment for sale, think of your cat or a dog like Winston, and leave it on the rack.
