Even MORE Stylish Vegan Shoes on Offer From Esprit

Last year, we were over the moon when Esprit teamed up with us to launch the first-ever line of “PETA-Approved Vegan” leather-free trainers.

So we’re extra excited that, following the overwhelming success of the first line, the international retailer is now expanding their animal- and eco-friendly collection to a whopping 25 different styles, including ballet flats, sandals and loafers.

The fact that major brands are now catering to vegans – and labelling their vegan options so clearly – is excellent news for both compassionate shoppers and animals. The global leather industry kills more than a billion animals a year, often in the most gruesome ways, and causes devastating pollution to waterways and the atmosphere.

Esprit was founded on a basis of creativity and responsibility and this spirit is still alive today. This is reflected in our continued efforts to transfer the philosophy of appealing vegan fashion to a commercial lifestyle product. With PETA’s support, we can bring more transparency to conscious consumers and hope to further expand this collaboration.

What about Vegan shoes (and boots) made from hemp, papyrus, and sea grass? I can personally attest that sea grass is both very aromatic and long lasting. 😀 Plus, they would be perfect for the hot summer months because they can be made either closed or open weave!

This is great news, however slightly hypocritical on behalf of Espirit. This winter they were selling fur pom poms on their womens hats in the UK, so have they turned over a new leaf and stopped stocking Chinese fur products? I hope so!

I like your Vegan shoes – can you tell me which website to go on to buy some?

Esprit doesn’t garantees its products at all. Lot of the, which even don’t show the label ‘leather’, have been made with some leather parts.
so its very difficoult and we have to pay much attention choosing a pair of shoes.

      Hi Caterina,

Esprit are now marking their vegan styles with a ‘PETA-Approved vegan’ tag, which makes it really easy to identify which shoes are leather-free 🙂

They may be doing some vegan shoes, but what is this about using Buffalo leather for belts! Sorry, but that goes beyond for me and is as bad as using fur! Sorry, if you believe in vegan, you don’t use any animals parts for anything. They are simply exploiting the market I feel.
