Here’s the Rest of Your Fur Coat

With London Fashion Week starting tomorrow, PETA activists hit New Bond Street to remind shoppers that there’s nothing fashionable about wearing the skin of tortured animals:

Three models in black dresses and spiked heels held up the corpses of dead foxes, confronting fur-wearers with the rest of their fur coat.

Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy cages before they are beaten, gassed or anally electrocuted and are sometimes skinned while they are still alive. Designers such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Vivienne Westwood, who all have boutiques in Mayfair, have publicly sworn off fur because they know that fur is only beautiful on its original owners.

With so many stylish alternatives to fur available, there’s no excuse to harm a hair on a fox or any animals’ head. Learn more about fur and let designers know that you don’t support a lifetime of suffering and a cruel and painful death in the name of fashion.
