‘Hope’: ‘Schindler’s List’ Actor Jochen Nickel Stars in Eerie New Video

Schindler’s List actor Jochen Nickel stars in PETA Germany‘s latest video, “Hope”. In the role of grandfather, Jochen walks with his grandson around abandoned ruins and through dark relics of the past while raising some pressing questions about humanity.

What would the world look like if we took lessons from the past to heart?

At the end of the short but powerful video, the pair leaves the ruins and walks together into a peaceful sun-drenched field as the grandfather tells his grandson, “I’m guilt and conscience. And you … you are hope”.

Each of us has the capacity to wake up, learn from past mistakes and realise that every heart feels. Will you be our hope?

Will humanity ever wake up? Or are we doomed?

It will be unsustainable to eat meat and fish one day. Cattle alone cause a high rate of Methane, adding to Global Warming. The land used to produce food for Animals should be used for alternative foods, like grain, vegetables and fruit. Being Vegan is the only viable alternative to being a carnivore. I have been a Vegetarian for 32 years and managed to become a Vegan 2 years ago. Susan, Hertfordshire, U.K.

People all over the world should see this video. I’ve been a vegetarian for over 25 years, but am still struggling to become a vegan. I’ve cut out eggs and milk, but am having a hard time with ranch dressing and cheese. I hope that by cutting down gradually, I will achieve my goal.
