Huge Increase in the Number of UK Vegans!

The number of vegans in the UK has skyrocketed over 350 per cent in the last 10 years, according to new research presented by The Vegan Society and Vegan Life Magazine.

The Ipsos MORI study found that at least 542,000 people in Britain now follow a vegan lifestyle. We’re particularly excited that the rise seems to be driven by young people, as close to half of all vegans are between the ages of 15 and 34. As we already knew, this suggests the growth will continue to surge!

The growth in the popularity of vegan living comes as no surprise. As people have become increasingly concerned about cruelty to animals, climate change or their own health, we have also seen Google searches for “vegan” hitting all-time highs. Here’s what the exponential increase looks like in the UK.

And the number of people visiting PETA UK’s website or ordering our free vegan starter kits has also surged. The number of vegan starter kits we distributed doubled last year, and we’re predicting another massive jump this year.
