Morrissey Highlights Animal Rights Activism on Tour Again

Morrissey is back touring the UK! This month will see Moz perform nine UK and Netherlands gigs, and he has invited PETA to come along.

At every one of his upcoming gigs, members of PETA’s Action Team will be on hand with leaflets and resources to show Morrissey fans just how easy it is to take songs such as “Meat Is Murder” to heart and ditch meat.

And over at his official merch table, fans can protest against blood sports with a new T-shirt design inspired by Morrissey’s tune “The Bullfighter Dies.”

Morrissey has never been one to miss an opportunity to speak out for animals. Last year, he used his tour to encourage fans to ditch meat by turning the venues he performed at vegetarian and by performing a show-stopping rendition of “Meat Is Murder”.

If you’re at the gigs, grab the T-shirt and stop by our table to say hello to our volunteers and also pick up your free vegan starter kit. Can’t make it? Don’t worry. The new T-shirt design is available from Morrissey’s official online store, and you can order your free vegan starter kit from

Dear compassionate friends, I’ve been vegetarian for over two decades now and deplore animal cruelty in any form. I recently went to see Morrissey in Leeds, a superb gig. I have always admired him and am thus on this site thanks to the PETA leaflets! I intend to go vegan in the not too distant future. It is so nice to know I’m not alone in my wish to live in peace and harmony with our non-human animal friends. We must stop the cruelty and profiteering. My very best regards. Gareth. Gareth – i hope you have gone Vegan by now because it is the greatest feeling you will ever have.

Hello Vicky, I’m pleased to tell you I have! I made the move after the gig. Best thing I ever did! My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. I’ve lost some weight, my metabolisms better than it’s ever been and my conscience is completely clear. I’ve made the odd mistake in some foodstuffs I’ve bought so now read ingredients as a matter of course if in doubt! It’s a journey I’m enjoying and can say hand on heart I’ll never deviate from. Despite being vegetarian I’d got my head in the sand as regards the dairy industry and their methods, I’m appalled by it. I’ve recently contacted an animal sanctuary I support with a view to saving a calf due for slaughter so he can live a life of peace and be an example of how such beautiful animals can have a place and enjoy their right to life. Knowing I’m not alone gives me such a lift so thank you! It’s so nice to know there are so many compassionate people out there. I’ve got tickets to see Morrissey in Manchester in a couple of weeks. A man of compassion and principle who gave me that nudge!

      Very best regards.
