‘One Step Further’: Why Animal Rights Is a Social Movement

This powerful new video from PETA Germany shows that no inequality can last forever and that animal rights – just like the struggles for women’s rights, against racism, and against tyranny – is a social movement.

Whilst humankind can be proud of the progress it’s made throughout history in overcoming oppression, we need to go a step further and acknowledge the rights of all beings to live free from suffering and exploitation.

The best way to help end animal suffering in the meat and dairy industries is to go vegan and enjoy the benefits of this healthier and more compassionate lifestyle. Billions of land and marine animals are slaughtered every year, and most suffer in cramped, squalid conditions during their short lives. These animals have feelings, thoughts, and personalities, just as we do, yet they’re treated like machines to feed our appetite for meat, eggs, and dairy foods.

Making the change to a plant-based lifestyle is easy with help from our vegan starter kit, which includes a range of delicious recipes that don’t contribute to animal suffering.
