Skins

Millions of animals are slaughtered and maimed for their skins in one of the biggest crimes against nature the world has ever seen. Fur, leather, exotic skins and wool – it's all the same to the animals who lose the skin or hair off their backs, just so we can cover ours. Chinchillas, minks, foxes, cows, lambs, snakes, and even cats and dogs are abused in the skins industries.

Some animals killed for their skin or fur are held captive in barren cages or tanks for their entire lives, and others are ensnared in crude traps in the wild. Whether it's an Australian lamb whose backside is mutilated or a cat who is skinned in China, all animals feel pain and suffer immeasurably. In shops and online, hundreds of humane alternatives – synthetic and natural – to real animal skins are available, so there's never been a better time to go fur- and leather-free!
