Britain’s reputation as a fashion trendsetter and nation of animal lovers comes together on the nation’s high streets, where this winter the fur look is being interpreted by imaginative cruelty-free faux-fur materials, from fun faux-fur jackets dyed every colour of the rainbow to faux ermine tippets.
Now PETA are launching a sticker for shops to display prominently in their windows, reading, “All our fur is fake”. The sticker is available to any chain or independent boutique with a policy against stocking any real fur products.
Leading the pack are Topshop, with a giant blow-up of the “All our fur is fake” logo in the window of their flagship store on Oxford Street (the world’s biggest fashion store) and the decals appearing on Topshop windows in all 280 of their stores around the UK.
Take a stand against cruelty by only patronising shops that have a policy against real fur and staying away from stores that still deal in death.
