Worst-Dressed Celebrity of 2010
And the winner is ... Catherine Zeta-Jones! She took top honours with her fur coat, leather pants, and crocodile bag. Draped in the skins of dead animals, she flaunts a murderous ensemble that's a crime of fashion – and compassion.
Read below for more information about Catherine Zeta Jones' awful fashion faux pas.
Fur Coat: Animals turned into fur garments are barbarically killed to avoid damaging their pelts. These animals are strangled and stomped on and have their necks broken – some are even vaginally or anally electrocuted!
Leather Pants: Cows and other animals who are turned into leather endure many of the same horrors as animals on factory farms. These animals are routinely skinned and dismembered while they are still conscious.
Crocodile-Skin Bag: Reptiles are usually caught in the wild – often illegally – and their skin is torn off their bodies while they are still alive. Since they are cold-blooded animals, they can suffer for hours or even days before they die.
With all the fabulous faux alternatives available, there's no reason to wear any part of an animal corpse. Style-savvy vegan celebs such as Sadie Frost and Sophie Ellis-Bextor and fur-free fashion icons such as Stella McCartney, Charlize Theron and Eva Mendes prove that looking great doesn't have to involve cruelty.
