Amesbury – In recognition of the company’s commitment to providing customers with only top-class insurance while also promoting kindness to animals, Animal Friends Insurance has earned a PETA Europe Proggy Award for Courage in Commerce. The insurance company has been presented with a glossy certificate and is featured on PETA Europe’s website PETA.org.uk. The group’s annual Proggy Awards (“Proggy” stands for “progress”) recognise animal-friendly achievements in commerce and culture.

Buying insurance need never seem a daunting, “fat-cat” prospect again – thanks to Animal Friends Insurance. The company donates 100 per cent of its net profits to animal charities around the world and gives generous discounts to vegetarians. As if living compassionately wasn’t rewarding enough, this ethical insurance company goes one step further by encouraging all policy seekers to think about animals in a different light.

“By offering discounts to compassionate customers, Animal Friends Insurance is showing that it pays to be kind”, says PETA’s Alexia Weeks. “The company is a leading light in corporate social responsibility, and this is our way of saying thanks.”

Almost 20 Proggy Awards have been given out this year, and the other winners include a chocolate company, high-street fashion chains, and independent producers and marketers of vegan foods and cruelty-free personal-care products.
