LondonThe Mentalist star Owain Yeoman is sure to get hearts racing with his brand-new, old Hollywood–style ad for PETA. Yeoman, who says that since he went vegetarian he’s felt better than ever, shows off his vegetarian physique in the ad, which reads, “I am Owain Yeoman, and I am a Vegetarian”. “[I]t doesn’t take a ‘mentalist’ to realise that eating meat just doesn’t make sense anymore”, says Yeoman in one TV spot, which can be viewed here. “It’s not healthy, it’s devastating to our planet and it means a cruel, painful death for literally billions of animals every year.” Yeoman’s second PSA can be viewed here.

Yeoman has his lovely wife – The Office star Lucy Davis – to thank for showing him how easy it is to go vegetarian. In an exclusive PETA US interview, Yeoman confided that Davis served him a delicious holiday “turkey” dinner last year and only revealed afterwards that it was faux turkey. “As someone who felt they were a confirmed meat-eater, I guess ultimately if I can do it, then anyone can”, says Yeoman. “It’s a really easy choice to make. And it’s a humane choice to make.”

The ad is part of PETA’s new series of vegetarian testimonials that star a growing list of celebrities – including Alicia Silverstone, Sir Paul McCartney, Sadie Frost, Joss Stone and many more.
