PETA Membership Coordinator, France

Position Objectives:

  • To be an advocate for PETA France and inspire people to become supporters by providing them with information about the charity and animal rights in general
  • To support the director of international response fundraising and help PETA France’s fundraising flourish by generating ideas and providing feedback
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date records about PETA France members and contributors and help expand the membership database

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide excellent service to PETA France members through written correspondence and on the telephone
  • Monitor PETA France’s post, e-mail, phone calls, and voice mail, and respond to all queries and literature requests within predefined time periods
  • Generate letters and e-mail correspondence in French, including donor updates and acknowledgement letters
  • Process all PETA France donations and bank statements in predefined time periods to ensure that donors’ records are kept up to date
  • Act as the primary contact for general questions from donors and supporters
  • Assist in coordinating copy and artwork for the Fundraising Department
  • Translate text from French to English and English to French
  • Research opportunities for promoting PETA France legacies and memberships
  • Oversee the PETA France membership database, making sure all data is correct and up to date and conforms with data protection legislation
  • Work closely with the database team and the Financial Department, making sure that all incoming and outgoing funds are administered efficiently and correctly
  • Look into and manage donation disputes, and ensure relevant members’ removal from PETA

  • Liaise with the various departments and working partners of PETA UK as well as other international affiliates
  • Research various animal-related topics, and stay informed about developments related to PETA
  • France and the animal rights movement
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Native-level command of French
  • Fluency in English and ability to translate between French and English
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in membership services or another relevant area
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
  • Working knowledge of database systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge is desirable)
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Proven exceptional organisational skills
  • Knowledge of animal rights issues as well as current campaigns by PETA France and its international affiliates
