HR Adviser/Senior HR Adviser

We are looking for an efficient HR Adviser/Senior HR Adviser to provide PETA with a wide range of HR support. Because this is a stand-alone role, the successful candidate will have experience across a spectrum of HR functions, from administration to case management. Position Objective:

To oversee PETA’s day-to-day human resources (HR) functions

Remote, with some travel to the London office required

Reports to:

Director

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Advise on HR policies, procedures, and guidance documents, ensuring legal compliance and best practice
  • Advise managers and staff on a range of issues including disciplinary procedures, objective-setting, and well-being
  • Manage all aspects of HR administration, including handling contracts of employment and up-to-date record-keeping
  • Manage all HR elements of payroll, benefits, and pensions for PETA and PETA France
  • Oversee and maintain the HR system (Breathe), monitoring holiday and absences, and manage performance
  • Support recruitment efforts when required
  • Support employee on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Together with senior management, develop and implement staff engagement and training programmes that will enhance staff experience and retention
  • Handle personnel issues, as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience in an HR role
  • Experience managing HR administration
  • Experience providing managers with clear, concise advice on employee-relations issues
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle strongly preferred
