SHEIN Bans Fur, Wild-Animal Skins, and Wild Feathers

After hearing from PETA US about how foxes, rabbits, ostriches, and other wild animals suffer in the fashion industry, retail giant SHEIN has added third-party sellers to its company-wide ban on fur and wild-animal skins. Its policy now includes any items made from the skins or feathers of ostriches, alligators, and other animals considered “exotic.”

Every Animal Is Someone

Every rabbit-fur coat or croc-skin purse is the product of extreme suffering and death.

Foxes rely on their bushy tails to spread scent to communicate, ostriches nurture their young for up to three years, and crocodiles are doting mothers who diligently protect their eggs from predators.

Animals Killed for Fashion

PETA entities have released dozens of investigations exposing cruelty to animals exploited for clothing. Videos have revealed that workers bludgeon rabbits and electrocute chinchillas for their fur, slaughter year-old ostriches, and hack at crocodiles’ necks and shove metal rods down their spines in a crude attempt to kill them for their skin.

The future of Fashion Is Vegan

SHEIN joins hundreds of major designers and retailers – including ASOS, Burberry, Canada Goose, Chanel, Nike, and H&M – in banning fur and wild-animal skins.

PETA urges other hold-out companies to follow its lead and ban fur, wild-animal skins, and feathers.

What You Can Do

PETA is urging Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s menswear creative director, to follow the rest of the industry’s lead and ban wild-animal skins and furs from LVMH.

Help stop the killing of animals for fashion and join the campaign – send Pharrell Williams a message now.
