Fiona Phillips, like millions others, is looking forward to Christmas, but what you won’t find on her holiday table is turkey – or any other kind of meat.

Wrapped up in faux woollies, we headed to the iconic London Eye to build an army of snow people to take part in our first-ever “snow protest”.

Eating the corpse of a tormented animal does not equate to the spirit of the season, and neither does cruelty to animals promote Christmas cheer.

For Christmas celebration, London’s Covent Garden Market is displaying live reindeer for people to visit and touch, touting the animals as “Rudolph and his mates”.
