PETA’s 2021 Vegan Homeware Awards
Leather made from cactus, apples, and pineapple leaves, duvets crafted from recycled bottles, and even an eco-friendly dog bed won accolades in PETA’s fifth annual Vegan Homeware Awards, which recognise the designers and brands meeting the skyrocketing demand for sustainable, compassionate decor.
Innovation Award
Apple leather is an innovative vegan option that helps avoid the cruelty and environmental destruction involved in the production of animal leather. Canadian furniture company Gus Design Group is experimenting with this bio-based material in its Gus* Modern range, creating sleek designs in shades of cognac and liquorice.
Influencer Award
From a wool-free carpet to cushions without a single bird feather, TV presenter Jasmine Harman’s living room is entirely vegan, showcasing just how beautiful cruelty-free living can be. Jasmine, can we move in, please?
