It’s Been One Crisis After Another in the Philippines, but PETA Asia Spays the Day

Just days after PETA Asia rushed in to provide much-needed veterinary care as well as dog and cat food to families reeling from the aftermath of devastating Typhoon Gaemi, the team sprang into action again, refusing to let the flood dampen their spirits – or their mission to help abate the homeless-animal crisis in the Philippines.

Veterinarians readied their scalpels and went to work at PETA Asia’s free spay/neuter clinic, sterilising a jaw-dropping 522 dogs and cats in one day! The previous clinic in the same area had resulted in a wait list a mile long, so the team picked up right where they left off to ensure that no one would slip through the cracks.

Our staff and volunteers made big waves of their own, sterilising a whopping 997 animals in just a month. One snip at a time, they’re helping secure a brighter future for dogs and cats, giving everyone something to be happy about.
