Northumberland Boat Crew Receive PETA Award for Rescuing Bruce the Dog

Northumberland – In recognition of their bravery in saving the life of Bruce the dog, crew members from Serenity Farne Island Boat Tourshave received a Hero to Animals award from animal protection organisation PETA. According to reports, skipper Jimmy Reid and crewman Aaron Fordy rescued Bruce, a German shepherd, who was trapped aboard an inflatable kayak that had drifted out to sea. The duo has confirmed that the heart-warming rescue was a team effort and that the award was gratefully received.

“Thanks to these rescuers’ heroic actions, what could have been a tragedy for Bruce had a happy ending,” says Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen. “We hope their compassionate deed will inspire others to help animals in need.”
