Why the Selling Sunset Star Has Spoken Out

“Coming from a background of dealing with homelessness, my heart understands .… [T]o be able to completely change a dog’s life and give them a forever home has always sat with me and just been something that I’m really passionate about.”
– Chrishell Stause

Stause joins a long list of celebrities – including Brian Cox, Tom Hardy, Greg James, Tove Lo, Sia, and Krysten Ritter – who have teamed up with PETA or our affiliates to promote animal adoption.

Do right by dogs – adopt them from animal shelters. Never buy them from breeders or pet shops, as this fuels the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats end up in UK animal shelters, and many of them have to be euthanised simply because there aren’t enough good homes for them.

“There are already too many dogs [who] don’t have homes,” Stause says. “And some of these dogs just need Hollywood makeovers. Don’t we all?”

International Dog Day: Take Action for Dogs

Each of us can help work towards a day when every dog has a loving, permanent home: have your animal companions spayed or neutered and always adopt animals, never buy them from pet shops or breeders. And encourage everyone you know to do the same!

Many dogs who end up in animal shelters are from the entertainment industry, discarded like used betting slips once they’re no longer profitable. Right now, there are plans for Oxford Stadium to reopen for greyhound racing. Please urge Oxford City Council to revitalise the community without condemning dogs to misery:
