Footballer Darren Randolph and Cute Pup Tia Want You to Adopt!

West Ham United and Ireland National’s Darren Randolph is usually out on the pitch, but he found time to show his softer side and encourage everyone looking for an animal companion to adopt from a local shelter. He posed in an ad for PETA cuddling up with Tia to show that there are loving animals desperate for a new home waiting at animal shelters all over the country.

Discussing the ad, Darren said:

Dogs are great fun, and they bring a lot of happiness and joy into people’s lives – but they are a lifelong commitment. If you’re ready for that, go down to your local shelter and check out some of the great dogs, like Tia, who are desperately waiting for a home.

Tia is currently up for adoption from London’s Mayhew Animal Home, and there are thousands of dogs, cats and other animals just like her in the UK with no home to call their own. Shelters are already severely crowded, as people are buying from pet shops or backyard breeders instead of adopting animals in need. There are just not enough good homes, and every puppy or kitten bought from a breeder takes away a homeless animal’s chance of being adopted.

If you have room in your life for a furry friend, head to your local animal shelter and ask about adopting an animal who would love a new home.
