Vegan-Friendly Weekend Breaks in the UK
Whether you’re thinking about using up the last of your holiday days or simply looking to book a little treat, these vegan-friendly getaways are well worth the journey.

There are plenty of delightful places across the UK for vegans, and vegan-curious customers, to escape to – and there’s more than salad on their menus. Here are our top vegan-friendly homes away from home:
Butlin’s

Iconic British holiday resort Butlin’s was given the inaugural PETA Holiday Award for its top vegan options and animal-free entertainment – and it’s easy to see why. Its menu offers more than 100 vegan options for the whole family to enjoy, including loaded nachos, vegan katsu curry, and the Quorn Buttermilk-Style Burger. For dessert, try the chocolate brownie that can be made vegan, or the key lime pie.
Crowne Plaza

With hotels in over 400 locations, this multinational chain is an excellent choice for leisure or business stays. It offers a variety of vegan meals, from a plant-based burger with vegan cheese and relish accompanied by skin-on fries to a green vegetable risotto that can be made vegan. Order olives and harissa hummus, an avocado and hummus sandwich straight to your room, or tuck into a Plaza Vegan Burger in bed.
Hilton

Hilton hotels added more vegan options to their menus in order to reduce their carbon footprint – netting them a PETA Travel Award. You can find delicious vegan meals at many locations like Hilton Newcastle, Hilton Croydon, and Hilton Leeds. PETA’s favourites include the hearty Plant Burger, mushroom and truffle risotto, the Nourish Bowl with crispy smoked tofu, black rice, edamame beans, crunchy slaw and chilli mayonnaise, and the cinnamon swirl baked cheesecake with cherry compote.
Hilton London Bankside Hotel

Hilton London Bankside is home to the world’s first-ever vegan hotel suite. The suite was created using 100% cruelty-free materials – including pillows filled with buckwheat husks, desk chairs made from Piñatex, a pineapple-leaf material, and an entirely vegan in-room menu with enticing options. Start your day with a vegan breakfast of mushrooms, crushed avocado, vegan sausages, grilled tomato, potatoes, and baked beans. For later on, opt for an open lasagna of celeriac, wild mushrooms, swede, haricot beans, truffle velouté and crispy kale, or a jackfruit Thai red curry. This suite is a haven where you can indulge in guilt-free luxury – in your bathrobe, of course.
Hotel du Vin

With locations in 19 towns and cities, Hotel du Vin is a great place to stay for lovers of plant-based fare. The bistro’s vegan menu has sensational options, including grilled vegan halloumi with raisin chutney, a haricot blanc and leek bake, and a chocolate terrine with Armagnac-soaked prunes. Bar food classics include a ratatouille and a vegan feta tart. The hotel even offers a vegan afternoon tea, featuring “eggless” and cress finger sandwiches, scones with vegan cream cheese, and a variety of cakes.
Malmaison

Malmaison is a chain of funky boutique hotels located throughout the UK. Each hotel’s restaurant has a vegan menu with delicious options for starters, mains, and desserts. Highlights include the creamy butternut squash gnocchi with crispy sage, and a falafel and spinach burger with sweet chilli and dill mayonnaise. To close, tuck into the Valrhona Dark Chocolate Cremeaux with poached pear. Some locations offer a vegan afternoon tea featuring tasty bites, such as a sticky tofu noodle wrap, toffee scone, and lemon cheesecake.
Mercure Hotel

This hotel chain, with over 130 locations across the UK, offers delicious vegan food all day. At the Brasserie restaurant, you can dine on a mushroom vol-au-vent featuring a garlic and white wine sauce, followed by an aubergine, chickpea, and courgette curry, all rounded off with a sweet treat like the caramelised biscuit cheesecake with caramel sauce. The menu varies by location; at other hotels, you’ll find dishes like teriyaki udon noodles, a Moving Mountains burger, and baked vanilla cheesecake.
Premier Inn

With over 800 locations in the UK, a Premier Inn is never too far away. Guests can order a full fry-up – including THIS Isn’t Bacon and vegan sausages – as part of the hotel’s unlimited, PETA Vegan Food Award–winning breakfast. Many Premier Inns partner with branded restaurants – including Beefeater – to offer tasty vegan options like the Plant Stack burger, which consists of a Garden Gourmet Sensational burger, burger sauce, a Violife slice, and vegan bacon. Brewers Fayre has a Thai green vegetable curry or vegan cobb salad, which you can enjoy before you tuck into a lemon and raspberry semifreddo.
Thistle Hotels

You’ll find some fantastic options on this hotel’s menus, with locations dotted across London. Choose a classic meal like the Moving Mountains burger with pulled BBQ jackfruit, melted vegan cheese, tomato, and lettuce. From the room service menu, choose between house nachos, chickpea bites, corn ribs, or buffalo cauliflower wings with vegan garlic menu.
Travelodge

This budget chain offers vegan items at its Bar Cafés, located in more than 220 of its hotels. You can enjoy American-style pancakes with maple-flavoured syrup or a big cooked breakfast featuring unlimited mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns, and Quorn sausages. Treat yourself to crispy jackfruit wings, a spinach and falafel burger with vegan garlic mayonnaise and thick-cut chips, or the Keralan Cauliflower Curry with naan for dinner. For dessert, try the chocolate fudge cake or pancake stack, served with forest fruits, vegan ice cream, and a Biscoff crumb – it’s heaven on a plate!

From country manors to seaside pads, Warner Hotels has 9 locations across the UK. Whichever you choose, you’ll find tasty vegan fare for every course. From The Coffee Nest, opt for a smashed avocado open sandwich with red onion, asparagus, pine nuts, and roasted tomato chutney. Each hotel’s Market Kitchen restaurant changes its menu daily, but you can expect dishes like Burmese-style butternut squash, lime leaf, and lemongrass curry and mushroom bourguignon, followed by a pecan tart with maple-glazed apples and chocolate sauce.
