Great British Doner Goes Fully Vegan for World Kebab Day – and You Could Get a Free Kebab
Think a kebab means meat? Great British Doner (GBD) is about to prove that vegan options are far superior.
To mark World Kebab Day on 10 July, the award-winning kebab chain is teaming up with PETA to go completely meat-free at two of its Manchester and Liverpool locations for the day, serving only vegan food and offering discounts to encourage customers to give plant-based eating a try.
GBD has long been a pioneer in vegan fast food, known for creating the first vegan doner on a spit. Now, for one day only, customers visiting two of the chain’s Manchester and Liverpool restaurants will find an all-vegan menu packed with flavourful kebabs, loaded fries, salads, wraps, and more.
Better still, the first 25 customers at each location will receive a free vegan kebab, and everyone can enjoy 20% off all food throughout the day. The discount will then continue for a week, giving even more people the chance to discover GBD’s plant-powered offerings.
A Vegan Takeover Worth Celebrating

“We’ve always believed vegan isn’t a compromise, it’s the future,” said Mehmet Nezir Korkut, owner of GBD. “We’re delighted to team up with PETA to flip the script on World Kebab Day. No meat, no compromise, just seriously good food. If you think a kebab needs meat, come down and let us change your mind.”
Why Choose Vegan?
Every year, billions of animals are killed for food, and those in the meat, egg, dairy, and fishing industries routinely endure painful mutilations, stressful transport, and violent slaughter. Choosing vegan meals helps spare animals this suffering.
Where to Find the Vegan Takeover
Manchester
GBD, 61 Deansgate. Open from 11:30am.
Liverpool

Whether you’re vegan, vegan-curious, or simply looking for a great lunch or late-night bite, head down on 10 July and see for yourself why more people than ever are choosing compassionate, animal-friendly food.
