Sienna Spiro Urges Fans to Adopt Rescue Animals in New PETA Campaign
Fresh from the release of her debut album Visitor, British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro is using her platform to help homeless animals find loving homes.
In a new PETA campaign filmed at London animal shelter, The Mayhew, Spiro appears alongside rescue dog Tim and several adoptable cats and dogs to encourage the public to choose adoption and never buy animals from breeders or online sellers.
In an accompanying video, Spiro speaks candidly about her lifelong bond with animals and the important role they have played in her life.

“Animals have always been very, very important to me … my dogs have always been my best friends,” she says. Reminding viewers that sharing a home with an animal is a serious commitment, she adds that animals “are for life, and you have to commit to them”.
The UK’s Rescue Crisis
Animal shelters across the UK are overwhelmed by the number of unwanted cats and dogs. Every time someone buys a puppy from a breeder, an animal waiting in a shelter loses a chance at finding a home.
Spiro hopes her supporters who are willing and able to take on the commitment of bringing a new animal into the family, will consider giving older animals a second chance.
“One thing I hope people take away from this is definitely to adopt and not shop,” she says. “And maybe not just go for a kitten or a puppy. Maybe go for one that’s had an amazing history.”
By teaming up with PETA, Spiro joins a long list of high-profile supporters who have spoken out for adoption, including Tom Hardy, Greg James, Brian Cox, Gavin Rossdale, Tim Burton, and Tove Lo.
Anyone considering welcoming an animal into their home should visit a local shelter or rescue group. Your new companion may already be waiting for you.
