To mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ landmark album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, activists gathered in Liverpool at the statue of the famous group to promote an animal-friendly vegan diet.

The activists also gave out copies of Paul McCartney’s PETA documentary “Glass Walls”, which reveals the shocking cruelty inherent in the dairy, egg, and meat industries. In the video, Sir Paul states, “If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.”

The documentary contains real-life footage of the abuse of cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, and other animals on factory farms across Europe and around the world. Sir Paul narrates the powerful video and helps explain not only the horrific cruelty that these animals endure but also the massive cost to the environment for which animal agriculture is directly responsible.

Most people would say they are against cruelty to animals, but many turn a blind eye to the suffering endured by those on their plates. It’s easier than ever to enjoy a cruelty-free vegan diet, so why not give it a try?
