Greggs Vegan Options: Full List of Pastries, Doughnuts, and More

Greggs vegan options have come a long way since the launch of the iconic vegan sausage roll in 2019 – which came after a successful campaign and petition from PETA. Since then, the chain has treated us to dairy-free cheese and bean melts, a meat-free steak bake, and a selection of cakes and doughnuts.

The UK-based bakery, founded in Tyneside in 1939, is known for its seasonal vegan menu, which it regularly updates with new and returning options. So, what’s on the current line-up for 2026? And what items are due for a possible relaunch?

Greggs Vegan Menu 2026

As we enter 2026, the Greggs vegan menu is as strong as ever – with iconic staples still flying off the shelves. Here are the classic menu items you can eat as a vegan at Greggs.

Vegan Sausage Roll

The Greggs vegan sausage roll is nothing short of iconic

Following conversations with PETA and 20,000 people signing our friendly petition, Greggs unveiled its vegan sausage roll in 2019. The launch was a sensation, and attracted huge media attention – including from Piers Morgan, who whined that Greggs were “PC-ravaged clowns” for its decision.

But, despite Piers Morgan’s protests, the vegan sausage roll was a huge success. The chain cited it as a key product that helped it reach £1 billion in sales for the first time in 2019. Soon after it launched, the sausage roll became one of the brand’s fastest-selling products of all time.

The Vegan Roll (Pork Free) features a savoury filling of Quorn mycoprotein (made from fungi) and textured wheat protein seasoned with sage, thyme, and other spices, all wrapped in 96 layers of flaky puff pastry. Greggs vegan sausage rolls are iconic, delicious, ubiquitous, and have more protein than their meaty versions.

Southern Fried Potato Wedges

According to Greggs, these wedges will “blow your taste buds away” – and we agree. They are lightly spiced with a delicious combination of herbs, spices, and southern fried style seasoning. They’re an excellent snack on their own or as a side for lunch.

Another offering made with Quorn mycoprotein, this meat-free roll features sausages wrapped up in a corn-topped roll. You can choose from vegan-friendly sauces Heinz Ketchup or HP Sauce, which are both available at Greggs.

Hash Browns

Hash browns are a classic vegan comfort food. They’re made from shredded potatoes that have been seasoned to perfection and fried until crisp and brown. They’re sold in packs of two and are a great addition to your morning coffee.

Sweet Potato Bhaji and Rice

With the public increasingly favouring more vegetable-focused plant-based options in 2026, Greggs has added a Sweet Potato Bhaji and Rice to its vegan menu. It’s part of the brand’s Salad Box Range, and features sweet potato bhajis, long grain rice, and an Indian-style chana masala sauce with mixed veggies.

Greggs Vegan Desserts

Greggs hasn’t scrimped on the vegan desserts – so you can enjoy a full, three-course meal at the bakery if that’s your thing!

The Greggs Glazed Ring Doughnut is vegan! It features a delicious, soft texture and a sugar glaze, and is considerably more budget-friendly than other doughnuts on the high street.

The Greggs Jam Doughnut isn’t listed as an official vegan option due to the risk of cross-contamination. That said, it is made with all plant-based ingredients so is an excellent vegan option.

Belgian Bun

Another accidentally vegan option at Greggs: the Belgian Bun!

Another option that just happens to be vegan, the Belgian bun is a delicious soft fruit treat filled with lemon flavoured pieces, sultanas, tangy apricot jam and topped with fondant icing. The bun even comes complete with a cherry on top!

Seasonal and Limited-Edition Options
