March for Animals FAQ
How do I take part?
Simply sign up and we’ll send you a welcome e-mail with the next steps, which include setting up a JustGiving or GivePenny page, choosing your fundraising target, and sharing your challenge with your friends and family. Then it’s time to get moving!
Is there a registration fee?
No. As this is a virtual event, it’s completely free to take part, but we encourage you to raise as much as possible to benefit PETA’s work for animals.
If you raise £25 or more, you’ll receive a PETA Pack medal as a thank-you. If you raise £50 or more, you’ll also receive a PETA Pack sports top.
When does the event take place?
The event runs throughout March, and you can cover whatever distance you choose at your own pace, in your own time, by the end of the month.
What activities can I do?
You can take part in any self-powered activity, as long as it’s safe (and legal, of course!). You can skate your miles, roll them in a wheelchair, pogo them, hop them, hula-hoop them – you name it.
Where do I do it?
You can cover your chosen distance anywhere you like, so long as you keep yourself and others safe.
Can we take part as a team?
Absolutely! Team challenges are a great way to have fun with your friends, and the support of a team can go a long way towards helping you smash your fundraising target and complete your challenge.
You can either split a total distance amongst team members or each complete your own target.
How do I fundraise?
Once you’ve signed up, the next step is to set up a JustGiving or GivePenny page. If you get stuck, drop us an e-mail at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to take you through the steps.
After you’ve set up your page and chosen a fundraising target, spread the word by sharing your fundraising page far and wide using the graphics. Remember to tell your friends and family why you’re taking on the challenge and how much it means to you.
We’ll be providing fundraising tips throughout the challenge, but please do check out our free fundraising guide if you would like more tips, tricks, and ideas.
How much should I raise?
You can raise however much you like! Remember: the more you raise, the more you’ll be boosting our effective campaigns to establish and protect the rights of all animals. And we’ve got some extra-special thank-you gifts in store:
- Raise £25 or more and we’ll send you a PETA Pack medal.
- Raise £50 or more to get the medal and an exclusive PETA Pack sports top.
How do I donate my funds?
By raising money through JustGiving or GivePenny, your funds will automatically be transferred to PETA, so you don’t need to do anything. If you raise funds in another way, e-mail us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help.
I have reduced mobility – can I still take part?
Absolutely. We encourage everyone to take part and choose a distance appropriate for their ability. If you would prefer to share the load, consider inviting friends to join you in forming a team and splitting the distance amongst you.
What happens if I can no longer take part?
If you signed up but are no longer able to take part in PETA’s March for Animals for whatever reason, please contact us at [email protected].
