£2,000 Reward Offered to Help Find Thug(s) Who Lobbed Kittens From Moving Car in Ripon

Ripon, North Yorkshire – PETA is offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for throwing two 6-week-old kittens from a moving car, as a result of which both of them had to be euthanised because they had “catastrophic” injuries. According to reports, the incident occurred on 19 November at around 2 pm in the Bondgate Green area – and the car in question was brown or gold.

“Someone in the area must have seen something or know something about the cruel individual(s) who committed this callous act,” says PETA Director Elisa Allen. “A person capable of deliberately causing a helpless animal this kind of suffering demonstrates a deeply worrying psychological state and must be found.”

It’s also imperative that the mother cat be found and spayed as quickly as possible to prevent more kittens from being born and suffering a similar fate. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact PC Matthew Scott at Ripon Police Station. Dial 101 and ask for North Yorkshire Police or e-mail [email protected]. Please quote reference number 12200204632.

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” – notes that the single most important thing that we can do to spare cats and dogs the suffering and death that their overpopulation causes is to spay or neuter them.
