ACTOR EMMETT J SCANLAN SAYS ‘WE ARE ALL ANIMALS’ IN NEW PRO-VEGAN CAMPAIGN

Butterfly Star Joins PETA to Spread Powerful Animal Rights Message

London – This Veganuary, actor Emmett J Scanlan wants to remind everyone that we are all animals who share this planet and that we all deserve to be treated with respect. That’s the message behind his new campaign for PETA – shot by celebrity photographer Tony Craig – in which the Butterfly, Krypton, and Peaky Blinders star encourages people to “live vegan”.

“I’m convinced that if we eat meat, we’re ingesting bad karma, but as a by-product of that, by not eating meat, I’m helping the environment,” says Scanlan in a

Chickens feel pain and fear, have unique personalities, and value their own lives, just as humans do, and the best way to help them and other animals is by adopting a compassionate vegan lifestyle.

PETA notes that each person who eats vegan spares nearly 200 animals every year a terrifying, bloody death in today’s meat, egg, and dairy industries. In addition to encouraging everyone to choose plant-based meals, the group – whose motto reads, “Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way” – also urges consumers to buy personal-care products that weren’t tested on animals, shop for animal-free clothing, and stay away from circuses and amusement parks that exploit animals.

Scanlan is part of a growing list of celebrities – including Paul McCartney, Peter Dinklage, Alan Cumming, Morrissey, and many other prominent vegans – who have teamed up with PETA or its international affiliates to promote kindness towards animals.
