AND THE WINNERS ARE …

Sexiest Vegan in the UK and Ireland Competition Won by Welsh Man and English Woman

London – What do Essex resident Anna Solaiman and Welsh native Cynfelyn Nancarrow-Lei have in common with Ellie Goulding, Natalie Portman, Jared Leto and even former US President Bill Clinton? They are all sizzling, sexy vegans! Solaiman, 29, and Nancarrow-Lei, 21, beat out other finalists to be crowned PETA’s 2015 Sexiest Vegans in the UK and Ireland.

Solaiman describes herself as a “crazy animal lover, dancer, runner, laugher and food inhaler” who is “addicted to Sriracha”. The Essex beauty is originally from Bangladesh and loves tempting her friends with vegan Bengali cuisine, like yummy curries. She works as a make-up artist and meet lots of different people and clients every day. “This is always the perfect opportunity to talk and spread awareness about animal testing and animal ingredients in products [people] may be using, as not everyone realises how much animal abuse there is in the beauty industry alone”, she says.

A chemistry student, Nancarrow-Lei went vegan four years ago after serendipitously making the connection between the consumption of meat and the slaughter of animals. “I no longer wanted to participate in [harming animals], so changed to a vegan diet in one day”, he says. “The health and environmental benefits of this lifestyle were later realised!” When he’s not busy volunteering for his university’s Animal Protection & Education Society, he can be found swimming, cycling or playing the guitar or piano.

“On average, vegans are healthier and have more energy than meat-eaters do – and that makes them sexier, too”, says PETA Director Mimi Bekhechi. “We’re thrilled for our two wonderful winners – but of course, to animals, everyone who goes vegan is a winner.”

The two winners will each receive a one-night stay for two at the luxury boutique hotel La Suite West in London, which will include a vegan breakfast as well as a dinner prepared by vegan Head Chef Nik Heartland at its restaurant, RAW.
