Glamourous Luxury Shoe Designer Turns Heads, Picks Up PETA Europe Award

Haute Couture Shoe Designer Beyond Skin Is Head and Heels Above the Competition With Stunning, Animal-Friendly Shoes

Hove – In recognition of its humane, high-fashion boots and shoes – produced without harming a hair on a cow’s back – East Sussex-based Beyond Skin has won an award from PETA Europe. The company has been named the winner in the Best Cruelty-Free Designer Shoes category in PETA Europe’s second annual Proggy Awards. Beyond Skin will receive a framed award and will be featured on PETA.org.uk. “Proggy” is short for “progress”, and the Proggy Awards recognise animal-friendly achievements in commerce and culture.

Proving that glamour doesn’t need to cost an animal’s life, Beyond Skin has created a stunning collection of vegan shoes that are as head-turning as they are humane. A true pioneer for compassionate fashion, Nathalie Dean, Beyond Skin’s founder, produces her shoes without exploiting animals or humans. All the footwear, which is handmade in the UK, is stitched, lasted and finished by hand at a small manufacturer in East London.

“Beyond Skin’s commitment to fashion goes hand-in-hand with its commitment to animals, as the company ensures that its entire range is leather-free and comes at no cost to any creature”, says PETA Europe’s Sarah Dickinson. “Beyond Skin is triumphing in the fashion world, and this is our way of paying tribute to the company’s compassion and well-deserved success.”

More than 25 Proggy Awards have been given out this year, and the winners include a multi-national pizza chain, a city council, and independent producers and marketers of vegan foods and cruelty-free personal care products.
