Four New Designs on Organic Cotton Encourage People to ‘Try Vegan’

London – When Luca Marchetto (former design assistant to Vivienne Westwood) and Jordan Bowen (former milliner to Stephen Jones), the designers behind London-based urbanwear brand 8Dix, create a line of T-shirts for PETA, they don’t pull any punches. The new line – modelled by London’s hottest “fashion activists” – launches today, with bold T-shirts that graphically proclaim, “God Hates Furs”, “Hell for Leather”, “Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter” and “Fry Your Sins”. Photos of the collection are available below, and high-resolution images are available upon request (please credit photographer Alexei Alexander).

The designs focus on the fur, leather and meat industries and feature the words “Try Vegan” on the back. Each shirt is printed on organic cotton and available in two sizes – a smaller snug-fitting tank top and a larger athleisure-style tank top that can also be worn as a mini dress. The tees – priced at £35, with a portion of each sale going towards PETA’s work to help animals – are available to purchase here.

Wanting to spread a pro-vegan message – because humans are “not the only motherf**ker[s] on the planet”, the duo behind the brand explain why they decided to team up with PETA. “[Y]ou are working for fashion, which is an industry about beauty. I just don’t get how you could end up with furs”, says Luca. “Fur is death. It’s coming from suffering, it’s coming from fear, it’s coming from terror, and I don’t think there’s anything glamorous about it.”
