London – What do buff Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and stunning British singing sensation Leona Lewis have in common? They are the reigning king and queen of PETA US’ annual Sexiest Vegetarian Alive contest. Now PETA Europe has expanded its own contest to include people who aren’t world-famous yet – although they could be if they were to win – and 20-year-old London resident Sundal Roy has beaten hundreds of entrants from across Europe to become one of the eight female finalists.

Sundal Roy is a model who loves fashion and making her own underwear and clothes. She has been involved in many PETA publicity stunts, including those in which she dressed as a chicken and a sexy “leprechaun” for the KFC campaign and as a bear for the Unbearable Cruelty campaign. She also went naked for the “Running of the Nudes“. Sundal has been vegan for seven years and believes that it helps her maintain a slim physique, which benefits her modelling career. Her favourite foods are South Indian dishes, especially coconut dhal curry, and she believes that compassion is always sexy.

“On average, vegetarians are slimmer and healthier than meat-eaters are – and that makes them sexier too”, says PETA Europe Director Robbie LeBlanc. “One look at our radiant line-up of sexy vegetarian finalists and it’s clear that they’re all winners.”

Following four rounds of head-to-head matchups, the winners – who will each spend a weekend in the beautiful Lake District courtesy of the Lancrigg Vegetarian Country House Hotel – will be announced on 2 April.
