PETA Offers £1,000 To Help Find Thug Who Plunged Pregnant Cat In To Hot Tar

Nazeing, Essex– PETA is offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who threw a pregnant cat in to a vat of hot tar. The terrified animal was described as ‘walking like a fossil’ when she was found hobbling along a street in Nazeing, Essex on Wednesday 17 October. The cat, Lilly was then taken to the local RSPCAbefore being brought to an animal groomers in Harlow, where experts used a heavy-duty hand cleaner to remove the tar. She has since made a full recovery and gave birth to a healthy litter of kittens.

PETA is urging residents to keep a watchful eye on their animal companions and to keep them indoors. Because animals cannot report incidents of abuse against them and can do little to fight back, they are the perfect “practice” victims for violent people.

History shows that past incidents involving cruelty to animals regularly appear in the records of serial rapists and murderers. Young killers Mary Bell, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables as well as serial murderers Ian Huntley, Thomas Hamilton (the Dunblane massacre), Fred West, Dennis Nilsen, Ian Brady and Raoul Moat all started out by deliberately harming animals.

“It is imperative that any community faced with such horrific abuse of animals take measures to find the culprit or culprits and stop the violence”, says PETA spokesperson Ben Williamson. “Animal abusers are a danger to everyone – they take their issues out on whoever is available to them, human or non-human.”
