PETA Offers Gbp 1,000 To Help Nab Dog-Killer Who Dumped Body In Sleeping Bag

Solihull, West Midlands – PETA is offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who dumped the bitten and scratched body of large Staffordshire bull terrier cross in a field in Catherine-de-Barnes. The emaciated dog, who was brindle in colour, was found with a broken front left leg in a navy blue sleeping bag and is believed to have recently given birth. The RSPCA is appealing for information from anyone who may have noticed a pregnant dog who went missing around 19 March in the Solihull and Birmingham area.

PETA is urging residents to keep a watchful eye on their animal companions and to keep them indoors. Because animals cannot report incidents of abuse against them and can do little to fight back, they are the perfect “practice” victims for those who tend towards violence.

History shows that past incidents involving cruelty to animals regularly appear in the records of serial rapists and murderers. Young killers Mary Bell, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables as well as serial murderers Ian Huntley, Thomas Hamilton (Dunblane massacre), Fred West, Dennis Nilsen, Ian Brady and Raoul Moat all started out by deliberately harming animals.

“It is imperative that any community faced with such horrific animal abuse take measures to find the culprit or culprits and stop the violence”, says PETA spokesperson Yvonne Taylor. “Animal abusers are a danger to everyone – they take their issues out on whoever is available to them, human or non-human.”
