PETA’s Shocking Stocking Stuffer for Jeremy Clarkson: ‘Kids Book’ Starring Screaming Animals

London – Vocal anti-vegan TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson might change his tune this Christmas after receiving a special gift from PETA: a “children’s book” for adults which, while drawn in pleasant pastels, features the sounds of real animal screams and nursery rhymes describing the horrors that animals endure in the meat, egg, and dairy industries and elsewhere.

As PETA explains to Clarkson in an accompanying letter, “The Secret Lives of Animals is written in such simple terms that even someone who, for example, mourns the death of their family dog but calls vegans ‘lunatics’ for caring about the mass slaughter of billions of chickens, pigs, and cows can understand the message: animals are not ours to use.” The group hopes that the book may even inspire him to add some vegan options to his Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

“Jeremy Clarkson admitting that he was wrong might require a Christmas miracle, but maybe this shocking stocking stuffer can help give him the push he needs towards animal- and eco-friendly foods in 2024,” says PETA Vice President of Programmes and Operations Elisa Allen. “With the new year on the horizon, PETA is encouraging Clarkson and people everywhere to turn over a compassionate new leaf by going vegan.”

Each person who goes vegan saves nearly 200 animals a year and improves their own health, since vegan eating is associated with a decreased risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and strokes. For those looking for a gift to encourage loved ones to go vegan, The Secret Lives of Animals is available to purchase on PETA’s website.
