PETA and Food Brand Quorn Celebrate World Vegan Month With Burger Giveaway

Quorn, Leicestershire – On Saturday, PETA and food brand Quorn teamed up to mark World Vegan Month (November) by providing people in the aptly named village of Quorn with a free vegan Ultimate Burger, served up at Quorn Village Hall.

Photos are available here, here, and here.

Locals attending the event, dubbed “Quornfest”, dropped in for free cooking demonstrations – dishes included Quorn Vegan Cumberland Sausage puff pastry twists and a tikka masala with Quorn Vegan Pieces, chickpeas, and spinach – and food sampling. PETA also gave out free vegan starter kits, which show that going vegan is easy, saves animals’ lives, safeguards your health, and protects the environment.

“We’re delighted to serve up our plant-based burgers to the people of Quorn,” says Jennifer Shepherd, UK brand manager at Quorn. “By going meat-free, you could be responsible for 10 times fewer greenhouse-gas emissions – so as well as being delicious and a good source of fibre and protein, Quorn’s Ultimate Burgers also help protect the environment.”

“Saving the planet, staying healthy, and helping animals is as simple as opting for a delicious vegan burger over a boring old beef burger,” says PETA Director Elisa Allen. “This World Vegan Month, PETA is encouraging everyone to join the plant-powered revolution.”

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – opposes speciesism, which is a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org.uk.
