SUSANNA REID RECEIVES SAMPLER PACK OF GOURMET VEGAN FISH FROM PETA

Good Morning Britain Host Treated to Delicious Fish-Free Eats, Encouraged to Keep Sea Animals off Her Plate

London – This morning, “fish” on a motorbike cast off a special delivery to Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, courtesy of PETA: a sampler pack of Quorn Vegan Fishless Fingers, Vbites Fish Style Steaks, and two jars of vegan caviar from Cavi-Art. The delivery also included a letter commending Reid for not eating land animals and encouraging her to cut fish out of her diet, too.

The photo is also available here.

“More diners than ever are denouncing the harmful fishing industry by choosing to stuff themselves to the gills with delicious vegan fish instead,” says PETA Director Elisa Allen. “PETA’s fish-free fish gift will help Susanna Reid ride this wave and avoid the cruelty, toxins, and cholesterol that fish flesh is absolutely swimming in.”

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – notes that biologists have found that fish are capable of using tools and that some even gather information by eavesdropping. They develop relationships, grieve when their companions die, and are so good-natured that Dr Sylvia Earle, one of the world’s leading marine biologists, has said, “I wouldn’t deliberately eat a grouper any more than I’d eat a cocker spaniel.”

In addition to sparing these sensitive and intelligent animals the immense pain of being impaled, netted, and gutted, choosing plant-based meals also lowers our carbon footprint and risk of developing cancer.

PETA’s correspondence with Reid is available upon request. For more information, please visit PETA.org.uk.
