VIDEO: SANTA’S GONE VEGAN!

PETA Campaign Unveils New and Improved St Nick

London – Just in the St Nick of time for Christmas, vegan comedian Carl Donnelly has suited up as the man in red for a new PETA video in which “Santa” reveals that he’s ditched the round belly, leather boots, and reindeer-drawn sleigh. Why? To quote the man himself, “I went vegan, innit?“.

“I just got sick and tired of getting stuck in people’s chimneys. But that’s all behind me now I stopped munching down all them fatty animal parts”, says Santa, showing off his newly trim figure and his new faux-fur coat. “Mrs Claus told me the trim on my suit was real fur – I almost choked on my nut roast!”

PETA offers free vegan Christmas recipes and a vegan starter kit on its website for anyone who wants to stay on Santa’s “nice” list. As Santa says at the end of the video, “I’ve gotta get back to wrapping up bits of coal for people on the ‘naughty’ list. Anyone know the way to the Kardashians?”

Donnelly is part of a growing list of celebrities – including Sir Paul McCartney, John Bishop, Alan Cumming, Vivienne Westwood, and Amanda Holden  – who’ve teamed up with PETA (whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”) to promote healthy, humane meat-free meals.
