International Direct Marketing Coordinator

Position Objective:

To work with the International Direct Marketing Manager to implement direct mail programmes that target existing and prospective donors of PETA UK, PETA Australia, PETA France, PETA India, and PETA Netherlands.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist with all elements of direct marketing–appeal delivery, and manage selected appeals, following established processes, under the direction of the international direct marketing manager. This will include:

  • Researching topics and content
  • Preparing strategy/copy briefs
  • Requesting images
  • Preparing design briefs
  • Working with the International Direct Marketing Manager to take copy and design through to the final version
  • Getting copy translated
  • Preparing data selection briefs
  • Checking data files
  • Using the Raiser’s Edge database to check records
  • Obtaining all required approvals
  • Briefing suppliers, colleagues and response handling agencies
  • Proofreading before print
  • Keeping logs updated
  • Saving documents
  • Put schedules together, and keep suppliers and colleagues informed
  • Approve invoices as needed
  • Produce appeal cost reports, and import these into the database in a timely manner
  • Manage the delivery of the welcome programmes
  • Manage the fulfilment of weekly acknowledgements
  • Help with aspects of programme development as directed
  • Make suggestions to refine and optimise the programme or to test different approaches
  • Help with and/or produce reports, if applicable
  • Manage document storage and stock control
  • Maintain departmental archives and mailing samples, and help with other administrative duties when needed
  • Keep abreast of developments in the charity sector
  • Monitor fundraising appeals from other charities, especially in the animal sector
  • Comply with fundraising and data protection regulations, and remain informed of any changes
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • At least one year’s experience in communications, fundraising, or marketing
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Research skills and the ability to synthesise and present information
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Willingness and ability to work on weekends occasionally
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
