Good News! Teletext Holidays Pulls Plug on SeaWorld Ticket Sales

After hearing from PETA, British travel provider Teletext Holidays has confirmed that it’ll stop promoting and selling tickets to SeaWorld – the world’s most notorious marine abusement park.

Why Does SeaWorld Suck?

SeaWorld is a watery prison where sensitive, complex, naturally far-ranging aquatic animals, including orcas and other dolphins, are kept in cramped tanks.

In nature, orcas form complex relationships, work cooperatively to find food, and traverse up to 140 miles of ocean every day. Those at SeaWorld are housed in incompatible groups, are sometimes kept in solitary confinement for months, and have even been given the drug diazepam to manage stress-induced aggressive behaviour.

Forty-one orcas and hundreds of other animals have died on SeaWorld’s watch – far short of their natural life expectancies.

Will TUI Be Next?

No travel provider should profit from cruelty to animals. Teletext Holidays joins a long list of companies – including British Airways Holidays, Virgin Holidays, Premier Holidays, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor – that have stopped promoting SeaWorld.

We’re calling on TUI – which is still giving a financial lifeline to SeaWorld – to follow Teletext Holidays’ lead. Will you join us in urging TUI to cut ties with the marine park immediately?
