Enter PETA’s UK and Ireland’s Most Beautiful Vegan Over 50 Competition 2020
We know it hasn’t been feasible to take to the streets to call for an end to animal exploitation during the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, so we want this competition to be a celebration of people who are keeping animals off their plates and out of their wardrobes – and finding creative ways to advocate for them – during the pandemic. If you’ve found new ways to speak up for animals at this time, please tell us about them when you enter.
PETA’s competition seeks the vegans over 50 who dazzle the most – on the inside even more so than on the outside – and who use their compassionate nature to speak out most compellingly for animals. So, do you – yes, you – have what it takes to inspire others with your passion for animal rights?
Before you enter, here are a few quick questions:
Are you over 50?
Rules are rules.
Are you beautiful?
We don’t mean having great headshots or a certain body mass index. We’re looking for vegans who are compassionate, enthusiastic, dedicated, optimistic, smart, fun, encouraging, and uplifting – all these virtues are super-attractive.
Do you take action for animals?
There are many, many ways to help make the world a kinder place for animals, and we want to hear yours. From organising digital protests to rescuing abused and neglected animals to sharing delicious vegan meals with your community, the sky’s the limit.
If you answered “Yes” to all these questions, show the world that you have what it takes by entering the UK and Ireland’s Most Beautiful Vegan Over 50 Competition.
The competition will be broken down into two rounds: the entry round and the voting round. You can enter the contest during the entry round only.
The entry round opens on 4 August 2020. All entries must be submitted by 5 pm UK time on 21 August 2020. PETA will choose finalists from qualified entrants based on the following factors: the enthusiasm they demonstrate in promoting a vegan lifestyle, PETA’s assessment of their attractiveness, and PETA’s assessment of how interesting their story will be to the media and the public.
The finalists will be notified by 24 August. Public voting to help PETA decide which finalist we should choose as the winner will begin by 25 August and end at 5 pm UK time on 7 September.
The winner will be notified and featured on PETA.org.uk by 11 September.
The winner will receive an award-winning eight-course vegan tasting menu for two at top London restaurant Gauthier Soho.
One entry per person. Open to residents of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland only. Entrants must be at least 50 years old on the day of application. Entrants must be vegan, and photos submitted must be tasteful. High-resolution photos are required. Images must be sharp and well lit, not blurry or fuzzy, and no social media filters are allowed. Only the entrant should appear in each photo submitted. Please remember that the members of the public voting to help PETA decide whom it should choose as the winner will be basing their decisions primarily on the photos, so be sure to make yours count. The images you submit will be used for press and promotional purposes.
