London – Outside London’s Smithfield Meat Market today, Celebrity Big Brother alum Chantelle Houghton unveiled a sexy new PETA ad that is sure to make her male fans sit up and take notice. In the ad, a disappointed-looking Houghton, dressed in a satin teddy, holds up a limp hot dog next to the caption “Eating Meat Got You Down? Fight Impotence. Go Vegetarian!” At the unveiling, PETA volunteers distributed delicious vegan hot dogs from award winning company The Redwood Co.
“I hope my PETA ad turns clogged-up carnivores on to the wonders of ‘veggie Viagra'”, says Houghton, who kicked the meat habit long ago and dumped dairy products from her diet after reading the international bestseller Skinny Bitch. “Vegetarian cooking is an easy way to make the world a better place for both animals and lovers!”
Released to coincide with National BBQ Week, the ad makes the point that the cholesterol and saturated fat in animal-derived products can slow the flow of blood to all the body’s vital organs. A recent German study of 1,519 men found that erectile dysfunction is a strong predictor of heart attacks and premature death. Eating meat, eggs and dairy products has also been conclusively linked to strokes, diabetes, obesity and cancer. If British men want to do more than just snore in the bedroom, they’d better lay off the bacon and bangers and start eating their veggies.
