BIRMINGHAM’S ‘MR SINGH’S PIZZA’ NABS SPOT
ON PETA’S LIST OF BEST VEGAN-FRIENDLY PIZZERIAS

Group Recognises Hot Spot for Its Delicious Cruelty-Free Fare

Birmingham – As the demand for delicious plant-based meals soars, vegan pizzas are popping up on the menus of restaurants, takeaways and delivery services across the UK. That’s why PETA has searched high and low for the best animal-free pizza, tasting slices ranging from classic and cheesy to bold and innovative – and Birmingham is home to some of the tastiest at Mr Singh’s.

An all-vegetarian restaurant, Mr Singh’s offers a range of mouth-watering pizza toppings including vegan pepperoni and sausage and dairy-free mozzarella and cheddar.

“Savvy restaurateurs are cashing in on the growing demand for cheesy vegan pizza”, says PETA Manager of Special Projects Dawn Carr. “PETA is calling on caring people everywhere to ditch dairy and instead enjoy a delicious, cruelty-free slice from one of the UK’s many vegan-friendly pizzerias.”

Also on PETA’s list in Birmingham are chains Zizzi and The Stable, which both offer vegan cheese at all of their locations.

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – notes that the demand for dairy-free foods is on the rise. According to recent reports, 20 per cent of Brits now include non-dairy milks in their weekly shopping trip, and research group Mintel has found that the market for dairy milk alternatives has increased by a staggering 155 per cent in the last two years.

In addition to saving many animals every year from daily suffering and a terrifying death, choosing vegan meals is a great way to reduce the risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity and cancer. These are just some of the reasons why millions of British people – including 20 per cent of 16- to 24-year-olds, according to Mintel – have chosen to ditch animal-derived foods.

Other pizzerias on PETA’s list are located in Brighton and Hove, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gloucestershire, Leeds, Liverpool, London and elsewhere across the UK.
